History of Social Media and Social Media in Work Post 2
It is also
expected with an increase amount of social media users that more workplaces and
facilities such as schools and colleges will integrate the use of social media
in learning (Hatley, 2012, p. 6-10). Apps have been created for educational use
and accounts on social media feature educational information. For example on
the social media outlet Instagram, there is an account called “MedicalTalks”
this account features videos and pictures of medical conditions and problems
that doctors often see. This account on Instagram is used for providing
information and educating users. Employers are also using social media for many
reasons. Employers use social media to interact with their employees, Employers
use social media outlets such as WhatsApp to create groupchats with their
employees making it easier to communicate any changes or problems in the
workplace as well shift changes and issues regarding the schedule. However the
use of social media in the workplace can be contraindicating for various
reasons.

Many t have integrated the use of social media into their teaching as it is a way for them to gain the attention of individuals and help educate them. As mentioned above there are accounts online which feature content beneficial to specific courses and have information which can help people further their learning. Educators are able to use these platforms for e-learning. For example, by creating a group online with shared content relating to teachings via Facebook.
